National Planning Entity
The Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development is responsible for formulating policies for the economic and social development of the country and for the economic management of the affairs of Government of Mauritius. The Ministry is also responsible for ensuring financial soundness of Government's socioeconomic policies for effective mobilization of revenue and for the proper control of expenditure. The Mauritius Strategy Board Act 2024, enforced as from August 16, 2024, establishes the Mauritius Strategy Board, also known as the Mauritius Strategy. The Mauritius strategy is new research and planning bureau with mission to:
- Provide support to the Government through the development of short-term to long-term plans, vision, and strategies.
- Undertake in-depth economic research and analysis to support policy options.
- Drive public debate and provide recommendations to support collective options on social, economic and environmental issues; and
- Evaluate Government policies.
